The Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation raised nearly $18,000 for its Patient Assistance Fund during the 15th Annual Celebration Basket Raffle held from October 20 to 24 at Cass Regional Medical Center. The event featured 23 donated baskets and gifts, including items such as a Blackstone Griddle and a Bluetooth-compatible jukebox. All proceeds will go toward supporting patients of Cass Regional Medical Center.
The raffle attracted community members who purchased tickets for a chance to win various prizes. Items were contributed by Cass Regional employees, volunteers, local businesses, and community groups.
Jennie Snapp, Executive Director of Foundation at Cass Regional Medical Center, said: “I am incredibly proud to be part of an organization that truly lives out its values every day—starting with Family. Our staff, volunteers, patients, and community came together to set a new record, and every dollar raised will directly impact patients in need. This event simply would not have been possible without the generosity of those who donated the incredible baskets, or the volunteers who tirelessly set up, sold tickets, and tore down each day. Many of those same volunteers turned around and worked their regular shifts at the front reception desk afterward—an inspiring reflection of the heart of Cass.”
The Patient Assistance Fund is managed by a case management team composed of nurses and social workers who decide when funds should be used for patient needs such as medication, home care supplies, transportation, and certain therapies. Since its inception in 2005, the fund has provided over $185,000 in assistance to more than 1,800 patients.
The foundation also supports other projects including funding medical equipment purchases; construction projects like the Emergency Department and Healing Garden; scholarship programs; employee assistance funds; and maintenance of gardens on the hospital campus.
