Rep. Mark Alford, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 4th district since 2023, has been actively engaging with his constituents and sharing his views on various issues through social media. A former journalist born in Baytown, Texas, Alford resides in Lake Winnebago and holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin.

On May 7, 2025, Rep. Alford shared insights from a "wonderful conversation this morning about the great City of Independence!" He mentioned discussions centered around the upcoming 2026 World Cup and the security needs of the Kansas City Area. He expressed gratitude to Council Members Wiley and Vaught, City Manager Zach Walker, and others for their participation.

Later that day, Rep. Alford invited constituents to join him for a coffee meeting in Benton County scheduled for Friday. He encouraged a respectful dialogue where questions, concerns, and ideas could be shared: "Join us this Friday! Let's have a respectful conversation over coffee."

The following day, on May 8, Rep. Alford expressed a patriotic sentiment regarding national ownership of resources by stating: "Our taxes pay for it. Our military protects it. It's OURS." He advocated for calling it "Gulf of AMERICA," underscoring his view on territorial nomenclature.

Mark Alford succeeded Vicky Hartzler as the representative of Missouri’s 4th district in 2023.
