Reflecting on the vigil, Alford described the somber atmosphere of the event, which included families affected by fentanyl-related deaths and community leaders. He tweeted, "It was a solemn evening being with families who have recently experienced their children being killed by fentanyl, along with community leaders, school district employees, and Belton and Raymore High School students." Alford mentioned that Lt. Dan from Belton Police spoke at the event, emphasizing the need for a collaborative approach.

In a separate engagement, Alford also mentioned his meeting with FBI Director Kash Patel. He stated, "We discussed securing our northern border now that our southern border is more secure than ever!"
