Rep. Mark Alford, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri's 4th district since 2023, uses social media to express opinions and address crucial issues. On April 11, 2025, he utilized Twitter to discuss matters impacting student athletes and military personnel.

In a tweet on April 11, 2025, Alford raised concerns about the Name Image and Likeness (NIL). He highlighted problems stemming from NIL, such as "fake agents and predatory practices" that could harm student athletes. Alford called for a framework that both "protects athletes" and considers their best interests.

Furthermore, on the same day, Alford emphasized the obligation to provide a suitable quality of life for military personnel. He tweeted about the necessity to identify areas where support is lacking and to implement remedial measures: "We have a duty to ensure that those who defend our nation have a quality of life that reflects the values of their service. We’re dedicated to identifying where we are failing and taking action to fix it."

Alford, a native of Baytown, Texas, born in 1963, has been a resident of Lake Winnebago. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988. In 2023, he succeeded Vicky Hartzler, enhancing his contributions to national and local discourse.
