Rep. Mark Alford, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Missouri's 4th district, addressed several policy issues through his recent statements on social media. Previously a journalist, Alford now uses his platform to discuss tax policies, election security, and budget resolutions. He succeeded Vicky Hartzler in Congress in 2023.On April 8, 2025, Rep. Alford emphasized that
"This is not a tax cut for billionaires and millionaires. This is an extension of tax policy that is going to allow mom-and-pop businesses in MO-04, rural communities, and all of America to flourish." He clarified the purpose of the tax policy as a means to support small businesses.The following day, April 9, 2025, he asserted a need for election security, stating,
" This is a FACT. Don’t listen to the fear mongering from the left. We must secure our elections with the SAVE Act!" Alford urges support for the SAVE Act to protect election integrity.On the same day, he addressed public concerns about taxation with another statement saying,
"Look, we have a responsibility to our nation to protect Americans from the largest tax hike in history. There's no time to waste. This budget resolution is the first step toward getting that done in one big, beautiful bill." He advocates for budget resolutions aimed at tax relief.
Mark Alford, aged 59, was born in Baytown, Texas in 1963, and currently resides in Lake Winnebago. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
