Mark Alford, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 4th district, shared his views on energy resources and government spending through a series of tweets. Alford, who has been serving since 2023 after succeeding Vicky Hartzler, often expresses his opinions on social media.

On March 5, 2025, Rep. Mark Alford tweeted about the United States' natural resources: "We have more liquid gold under our feet than ANY other nation. DRILL BABY DRILL!" This statement reflects his stance on utilizing domestic oil reserves.

In another tweet from the same day, Alford commented on fiscal policy with reference to the current administration: "With @POTUS in office, we will end the flagrant waste of tax payer dollars." This indicates his support for measures aimed at reducing government expenditure.

Further expressing his appreciation for private sector contributions to governmental efficiency, Alford tweeted: "Like Trump said, thank you for your service in rooting out the billions of dollars in waste, @elonmusk. You didn’t have to do this, but you do it to Make America Great Again!" He acknowledged Elon Musk's efforts in addressing financial inefficiencies.
