Rep. Mark Alford, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Missouri's 4th district, has recently shared a series of updates on social media reflecting on personal and professional developments.

On December 12, 2024, Rep. Alford expressed his sorrow over the passing of Dr. Gene Richardson, whom he described as "a mentor, a friend, and someone who was like a second father to me." He encouraged others to emulate Dr. Richardson's qualities of generosity and courage, concluding with a heartfelt farewell: "Dr. Gene, we’ll see you in the morning."

The following day, December 13, 2024, Rep. Alford attended an event hosted by the Sedalia Chamber where Bothwell Regional Health Center discussed their upcoming project for 2025: introducing a K9 officer into the hospital setting. He noted his enthusiasm about meeting K9 Officer Mike and K9 Ringo at the event: "We are looking forward to all of the big plans…"

Later that same day, Rep. Alford announced his selection to serve on the House Appropriations Committee (@HouseAppropsGOP), highlighting its significance as "the committee that holds the power of the purse." He emphasized that this role amplifies Missouri's voice in Congress and strengthens their position: "I'll fight for our 87,000 farms, Whiteman AFB..."
