Rep. Mark Alford, a U.S. Congress member representing Missouri's 4th District since 2023, recently shared his views on pressing issues via social media. Alford, who succeeded Vicky Hartzler and has been an advocate for national defense and rural broadband access, posted several tweets addressing these topics.

On December 10, 2024, Rep. Alford emphasized the need for the House to pass the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (FY25NDAA). He highlighted concerns about China's military expansion and its implications for the United States and Indo-Pacific allies. "China is rapidly expanding its military and growing its reach–it’s time for the House to pass #FY25NDAA to ensure we are defending ourselves and our Indo-Pacific allies."

Later that day, Alford celebrated advancements in rural broadband infrastructure alongside Charter and Spectrum Internet at a ribbon-cutting event in Peculiar. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring broadband access for all constituents in Missouri's 4th District. "Last week, our team was able to celebrate with Charter and Spectrum Internet at their ribbon cutting for their new rural broadband project in Peculiar."

On December 11, 2024, Rep. Alford reiterated concerns regarding China's actions under Xi Jinping's leadership. He stressed that these actions would be taken seriously by the United States and its allies while advocating for the FY25NDAA as a means of maintaining strategic deterrence against China. "Xi Jinping's unprovoked actions will be taken seriously by the United States and our Indo-Pacific allies."
