Rep. Mark Alford, a U.S. Congressman representing Missouri's 4th district since 2023, recently shared his perspectives on several national issues via social media posts. Alford, who serves on the Armed Services Committee, highlighted concerns about military capabilities and fiscal responsibility.

On December 10, 2024, Rep. Alford expressed concern over China's advancements in military armament. He stated: "We’re on the Armed Services Committee, and the data is clear: China is outpacing us in nearly every area of military armament, especially missiles." He emphasized the need to rebuild the U.S. military to deter threats and maintain peace through strength.

Later that day, Alford addressed financial concerns regarding national debt levels: "Our national debt has hit almost $36 trillion, and we're spending more on interest than on our entire defense budget." He called for restoring fiscal responsibility to secure the nation's future.

In another post on December 10, 2024, Rep. Alford discussed enhancements in counter-narcotics efforts within the FY25 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). He noted: "The FY25 #NDAA boosts funding for counter-narcotics activities by $10M and expands DoD authority to assist law enforcement against narcotics traffickers." He stressed that protecting communities begins at the border.
