January is Cervical Health Awareness Month!
Cervical cancer affects thousands of women each year. But there are steps we can take to prevent it!
Vaccinate early - It is recommended that girls and boys recieve the HPV vaccine between the ages of 11-12. The vaccine produces a stronger repsonse when taken during preteen years, but women and men can be vaccinated through age 45.
Screen regularly - Women should start screening with a pap test at age 21 and co-test with a pap test and HPV test at 30. Talk with your health care provider about how often you should be screened.
