*TAXPAYER NOTICE* This is a friendly reminder that taxpayers wishing to avoid the annual delinquent real estate tax sale, AND the fees associated with that sale, here is a list of deadlines you should be aware of:
• LAST DAY to avoid paying a lien search fee: Thursday, May 26th at 4:30PM
• CERTIFIED MAIL FEES will be applied Monday, June 13th
• LAST DAY TO AVOID THE NEWSPAPER ADVERTISEMENT
Is Thursday, July 14th at 4:30 PM
The newspaper advertising will run the weeks of July 18th, July 25th, and August 1st per The Revised Statutes of Missouri, Chapter 140
• My website, casscounty.com/2223/collector, will list available properties no later than July 18th
• PERSONAL CHECKS will no longer be accepted beginning July 1st
I will utilize LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook to advertise these properties, their owners, and the amount of back taxes owed. Social media posts will begin July 15th.
My goal is NOT to sell a tax lien on a property. My goal is to locate the owner(s), heirs, family members, or interested parties to inform them of the balance due.
