Cass Regional raises $40K at Boots & Bar-B-Que for pediatric training equipment

Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation recently organized a fundraising event titled “Boots & Bar-B-Que” at Stillmeadow in Garden City on May 1. The event raised approximately $40,000, which will be allocated towards purchasing a pediatric manikin and crash cart. These tools aim to provide practical experience for local high school students interested in healthcare careers.

The gathering saw more than 130 attendees who participated in bidding for over 40 silent auction items and three live auction items. The event also featured a 50/50 raffle and a heads or tails game.

Rich Linden, known for his role as an event host and DJ, served as the emcee. Denise Ashby-Cohen, the foundation board president, delivered the welcome speech, while T.R. Hoefle, a foundation board member, provided the invocation. Crysti Danahy, Clinical Education Manager, addressed the guests about the fundraiser's objectives. Erin Hoefle of Life’s Journey Portraits was responsible for capturing moments from the event.

The primary sponsor was Commerce Bank with MedCurate sponsoring drink tickets. Table Patron sponsors included Hawthorn Bank, Forvis Mazars, HCA Midwest Health, and Seigfreid Bingham P.C. Supporting sponsors were Chris and Laurie Lang; Toni Wiseman; Edward Jones; United Imaging Consultants; Sherwood Community Bank; Hoefle Law; and Children's Mercy Kansas City.
