Extensive drug investigation leads to early morning search warrant.
In the early hours of 11/15/2022 the Bates County Sheriff's Emergency Response Team conducted a narcotics search warrant for 405 S Mechanic Butler Mo 64730. Initially four subjects were taken into custody without incident. Two subjects were later released as they were not part of the initial investigation and do not live at the address.
Upon the conclusion of the search of the residence over 110 Grams of Methamphetamines, 16 Grams of pure fentanyl, 63 grams of heroin laced with fentanyl, one chocolate bar with mushrooms, $5000 in cash, couple pounds of marijuana and a handgun with the serial numbers filed off.
Fentanyl and Fentanyl laced drugs have become a true epidemic across the country. Approximately 108,000 Americans died from overdoes last year with almost 71,000 of those being fentanyl related substances. We have seen in increase in Bates County of opioid overdoses and no signs of any decrease. First responders are responding to multiple calls weekly and using Narcan at a rate that is not sustainable.
Sheriff Anderson says, "the people that are bringing this into our community does not care about anything other than making money off those addicted people. They don't care if they die, they don't care if it ends up in the hands of our children, they don't care about anything other than the money. Those kinds of people are a danger to our community and we must work together to stop the flow of fentanyl and other drugs from entering our community. This will take the whole community to be successful and can't be done by law enforcement alone."
Criminal charges have been filed in this case by the Prosecuting Attorney.
Ronald D Rudder, 7/7/1983 of Butler has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of trafficking drugs in the second degree and unlawful possession of a Firearm. His bond was set at $50,000 cash only
Ashley L Rudder, 5-15-1987 of Butler has been charged with two counts of possession of a control substance and one count of trafficking drugs in the second degree. Her bond was set at $50,000 Cash only.
