A GREAT DAY FOR TRACTOR DRIVING & DISC GOLF....
Yesterday, Harrisonville High School PE students were outside playing disc golf on a course set up in the area behind the school (foreground) AND at the same time, Cass Career Center Ag Science II students were testing their tractor driving skills (background).
Disc golf is one of the units in the Lifetime Sports class at HHS.
In Ag Science II, students are working toward the National Safe Tractor and Machinery Operation Certification. This certification allows a 14 or 15 year old student to be hired on farm and drive a tractor. Students have to pass a written test and perform various driving skills. Yesterday in class, students were taking their driving final. They have to navigate obstacles (cones/flags), back the tractor 25 yards, and pull into and out of a structure (barn/shed) without hitting the entrance pulling an implement/trailer.
