Cass Regional Medical Center announced on Apr. 7 that it has successfully passed the annual Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) inspection.

The MQSA inspection is a federal requirement designed to ensure that mammography facilities meet national standards for safety, image quality, and clinical excellence. This outcome means patients at Cass Regional can continue to rely on high-quality imaging services.

Julie German, Director of Medical Imaging, said, “Passing the MQSA inspection is a testament to the dedication of our imaging team and our commitment to patient care. This certification gives our patients peace of mind that when they come to us for their annual screening, they’re receiving imaging that they can trust.”

The medical center offers 3D mammography technology which provides clearer images than traditional methods. This advancement is especially helpful for women with dense breast tissue and has been shown to improve cancer detection rates while reducing repeat imaging.

According to Cass Regional Medical Center, the recent inspection verified that its equipment meets or exceeds all Food and Drug Administration performance standards for radiation safety and image clarity. Radiologists and technologists have received advanced training and continue education benchmarks, while staff members track and verify the accuracy of all findings.

Screening mammograms are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with additional appointments offered on the first Saturday of each month.
